the G35's more of a direct competitor. and i think most still prefer a G35. i didnt even know they're out yet. theres not 1 i've seen here in so cal, and people snatch up the fresh cars here very quickly.

It's kind of a shame that this GTO isn't selling IMO. For the GM beancounters this reinforces the [false] notion that the American car buyer doesn't care about sophisticated chassis engineering. Or interiors that actually are pleasant to look at and use.
If I could afford to do it, I'd pick one up, revert back to the Holden Monaro bodywork and go from there..

I agree, the subtle nature of this GTO "conversion" is off the mark. That said, I believe it's possible to add visual excitement in a way that will still age well.

In my opinion...gm has yet to hit a home run. yeah they've been able to get on base..but they've always been lacking something important. the GTO has a pretty good interior and has some decent technology in the chasis and has lots of power. However its exterior styling is very bland and at that price point, styling is a very important factor.
They've come to great strides with cadillac as well. However, they still haven't hit a home run their. The CTS is an attractive car on a decent platform. However, the base engine is weak for the price and the interior is still for people in their 50's. I dont think anyone in their 50's would like the exterior styling. So its doesnt go well. The CTS v is also nice...but again..I don't like the interior and for that price I'd rather get an m3. Now give me a nicer looking interior, and the pluses will start to favor the cts.
