Are you sure?

GS430 (5spd auto - VVT-i) - 18/23mpg
RL (4spd auto - Non VTEC) - 18/24mpg
Odyssey (5spd auto - VTEC) - 18/25mpg

Also, the RL is a 3.5L V6, same one used in the Odyssey minus the extra gear and VTEC. :slap:

 :slap:
yeah, let's compare a TURBO engine to an NA engine
why is it that stupid people always compare turbo engines to NA?
i'm sorry but that is just RETARDED.

seems like every post you make is anti-honda pro-toyota. why don't you go talk about how great toyota is on their forums then?

Honda may not be the first to INOVATE variable timming, but I believe Honda was the first to mass-produce it in the 1989 NSX, then the 1992 Prelude Si. Car companies have technology laying around for 20 years before they do anything with it. With Honda, if they have an inovation, they get it into their production cars as soon as possible. Makes them more appealing, shows their ability to put ideas into motion, and just plain kicks anyone else in R/D and engineering. Honda and BMW are still the only engine manufacturers with variable timming in every engine they produce. IMO, that makes Honda a far more superior performance comany than Toyota.

NSX and VTEC start in 1991 not 1989

i think toyota had some great cars like the supra and MR2 but now it seems like they gave up on them i dun find the GS430 a performance car which has the supra engine in there as for the MR-S there should be a 180hp version

Actually, they aren't. The RL's 3.5l V6 (B35??) is based on the old 2.7l V6 from the Legend. The Odyssey's 3.5l V6 (J35) is based on the Accord' 3.0l V6 and is a much newer engine.

Learn something everyday. But it still stands, the RL has a 3.5L (not a 3.0L as originally posted) and gets marginally better mpg than the GS430 (not the other way around as originally posted).

I've noticed Toyota's moving away from performance and toward luxary, maybe their gonna merge the lexus toyota name into one, they droped the ecu redline on the celica 400 rpm for 2003 =, nobody really knows why either

I don't get why is that stupid. It's just different way to get to the same goal, which is faster cars and higher horse power. Honda chooses High RPM and N/A, while others prefer to make their engine stronger and boost them. Why do people always call name when they don't have an argument...
