The GT40 is probably the only Ford I'd ever buy, but for $100,000 I can't buy it, and if I had it, I wouldn't spend it on a Ford.
Therin potentially lies the problem. Unless you're a huge Ford freak or a nostalgic race fan with a lot of money, or perhaps so damn wealthy you can afford one and not care about it's prestige, then you got a sale.
But I can't honestly see someone looking at a 360 Modena and saying "I'll visit my neighborhood Ford dealer first"; even if it's $30,000 less (which eventually becomes irrelevant as more zero's become attached to an MSRP.)

so you wouldn't buy a GT40 then? since it's going to be wayyyy over $100K :fawk:

I like the car. However from reading the review, ford made some compromises in the handing department.

For the highball crowd, there are lots of Ferraris to be had. Let's set the reasonable ballpark at 308s and up as the border between something you'd drive and something you would collect. That's a fair number of different models, all of which someone with the "keep up with the Joneses" is going to label 'A Ferrari' and have done with it.
On the other hand, here you have this brand new low production vehicle which hasn't been produced in 40 years. You know no one on your block or at your work has one, and you know they don't have anything similar. That's big flaunting incentive.
