The GT40 is probably the only Ford I'd ever buy, but for $100,000 I can't buy it, and if I had it, I wouldn't spend it on a Ford.
Therin potentially lies the problem. Unless you're a huge Ford freak or a nostalgic race fan with a lot of money, or perhaps so damn wealthy you can afford one and not care about it's prestige, then you got a sale.
But I can't honestly see someone looking at a 360 Modena and saying "I'll visit my neighborhood Ford dealer first"; even if it's $30,000 less (which eventually becomes irrelevant as more zero's become attached to an MSRP.)
