Pricing 2003 Odyssey
Been a long time since I've posted here, so long I guess they decided to delete my profile. Anyhow, time for me to move on to a family vehicle, and we've decided on the Odyssey. We'll be trading in my wife's Corolla, so I get to keep my Integra.
Looking for a 2003 Odyssey LX, and best deal I've gotten so far is $23,300. Is this about average for what most are paying now? I'm not really sure of what the current supply and demand issue is on the Odyssey. Prices I've been given have ranged from $23,300 to $24,000.

Well, HAN crashed in February 2002 and all profiles were lost...so that may be your problem.
www.edmunds.com has a thing called 'True Market Value', I've found it to be extremely accurate. I wouldn't cross your fingers too hard on getting anything close to invoice on an Odyssey...they are in EXTREMELY high demand. They just built a manufacturing plant in Alabama for the Odyssey and Pilot SUV(completed last fall I believe) and are already expanding it because of the extreme demand. I believe the average Odyssey spends about 4 days on the lot...which is incredible. It is, aside from exotic sports cars, probably the most sought after vehicle in the USA. That and the Pilot.
2003 Odyssey LX (Edmunds.com)
True Market Value: $25,296
MSRP: $24,860
Invoice: $22,417
That's about the only car with a TMV over the invoice. Only others I can think of are new models for 2004 like the BMW Z4...but the Odyssey is 5 years old.
I would say $23,300 is an extremely good deal

After a few more phone calls and a visit to the dealer, we finally settled on a price of $23,133. We'll be finishing up the deal tomorrow.
I've heard some dealers screw you on the financing by adding hidden fees and playing with the numbers. Anything in particular I should be looking for. I was going to finance through my credit union, but the dealer keeps insisting they can provide me with a comparable rate.

Sounds like a good price. Watch out for hidden fees - like the documentary/processing fee - it can be $99-$499. Its all profit for the dealer. The warranties are marked up 50%. And the exterior/interrior protection package is worthless and all profit for the dealer. Also if you finance through him make sure they give you a damn good rate and find out what your credit union will give first. The dealer makes money by holding points on you - you are approved for 5.25%, but the dealer signs you up at 7.65% - a couple of percentage points can equal $3000.00 fast.
