Default Window tint

Hey, everyone. I need advice. I plan on getting my 1996 Acura 3.5RL's windows tinted. The car is dark green. I know there's the regular black tint and titanium. What would you suggest I get? My main reason for getting tints is for looks and privacy. I've also heard of black tints being discolored and turning purple. So what do you guys think?

I like tint on certain cars and if your RL is green I am sure you have the tan interior. Since you have a light interior you should want people to see the contrast between the body color and interior of your car. My suggestion is stick with the original color tint. I would get the lightest choice they make, 35%. 28% is the darkest I would go. If you get it done professionally, you do not need to worry about the tint turning purple - they don't use the cheap Pep-Boys stuff.

Also, if you use a window cleaner with ammonia or alcohol (I can't remember which) in it, then it will turn it purple....There are some window cleaners out there that are made for tinted windows like ClearVue...Check into that....

Anyone who lives in California and reads this, please tell me. I know that the front side windows aren't allowed to be tinted, but there are still a very big number of people here in California (Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, these areas) that have their front side windows tinted. Not only that, sometimes they are tinted really dark, not quite limo tint, but really dark so it's obvious it's tinted. How strict are the laws here in CA about front side windows being tinted?

Legally the front can be tinted 70%. The rear can be anything.

I have 50% up front and 35% rear and 20% back.

I hear people in Orange County getting pulled over for 50% front. However 50 and 70 is hard to tell by most people.
