Selecting Window Tint
I'm currently trying to select window tint for my 98 Accord sedan. It is the heather mist color. Theres the main choices of black and charcoal colored tints, but a few have suggested going with a blue mirror tint. Would that be too rice-y?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

i've never heard of blue mirror tint, but it definitely sounds interesting... i also have a heather mist sedan and want to put some tint on it also....i was thinking about a high percentage mirror tint- something with a reflective look to it, but not as super mirrory-looking as the the lower percentage ones...
would like to see some pics of that blue tint tho...

I recently got tint on my 95 accord but I had to have them strip 4 of the windows (I managed to get off the back window myself...but was too much work so I didn't want to do the rest). Anyway, California Tint charged me 20 more strip the 4 windows. I figured the 5 bucks a window is worth the hours of pain (it's damn hard to strip windows without proper equipment) and to have them do it right.
if you got heather mist, don't get the blue tint. if anything, stick with the black tint but bronze would look like nice too.
stripping tint off side windows is really easy...use a razor to pick up a corner, start peeling till all the material is off the glass, spray it down with ammonia window cleaner and scrape off the leftover adhesive using the same razor. as for the rear windshield, you basically do the same (peel) but you can't use a razor on the defroster lines. you might have to use a towel or non-scratching dish sponge (those green thingies made of plastic/nylon) and scurb lightly. the tint people would probably use a special spray but they still use something rough to scrub and most times, they don't guarantee that all the lines will still work.

i like dark tint on heather mist. i have 20% on back 3 and 35% in the front. i think it looks good and will look better whenever i my gunmetal rims. removing tint is pretty easy. just like UA5 said, get a razor and peel. you can use fantastik to remove the glue, just let i soak for a while.
I wasn't looking to go chrome really....just a slight metallic tint (like on the RX300s but not even that reflective)...just something to add a little flava to the tint... the charcoal looks dull to me IMO, and I don't really like it on a light colored car...
You don't want the RX300 tint, otherwise known as Quantum Reflective Tint, which I and some others on the board have gotten (you know, it's greenish, just a little reflective). I think it looks terrible on my car at least (black car). I should've just gotten Titanium Black or completely reflective blue.
i've only seen the light blue tint...light enough that you can see through the window. It was on a light blue accord, but it was horrible. Even though i only glimpsed it for 10 seconds, i couldn't stand it...I would feel sick if everything i saw was blue. I think the driver agreed with me...he had his front windows down all the way
