You need to soften the seal around the housing by using a hair dryer for a while. I've heard of methods where you can boil or even bake the housing...but I choose not to use that method. It's easier if you're working with someone. They can move the hair dryer back and forth over one area of the seal...while you slowly pry the housing apart. The first time you do it..it will take a while. Just take your time because you don't want to damage anything.

When you're ready to reseal, you just reheat the existing glue that's left on the housing. When you reheat it, it will become tacky in which you can put everything back together. You can use water resistant silicon if needed.

Default Thanks

I figured it out before I got your email, thanks anyway. By the way, it looks tight, I also cleared out the side markers and blinkers, so the entire light housing is clear. Thanks again.

I haven't taken any pics yet, it will be in the body shop for about 7-10 days for damage caused by the recent hurricane we had in Louisiana, I plan on putting up my own page on the forum you have your pictures on. I have been waiting for it to get fixed before I put it up because I also had a big dent on the drivers door, I didn't want anybody to be able to say anything bad about the car just because of that. But it will be ready soon. I'm also going to put up a picture of it with the 19's I had on it as well as the new ones. I will also have to take the headlights off again and reseal them, because I noticed this morning that some precipitation had made its way behind the lens covers.

Just to let you know, EKY, I got my car back after about a month of it being in the body shop. I now have a page on cardomain.com. I still don't have a picture of the headlights, even though I have seeled the passenger side headlight twice, it still gets precipitation behind it.

aww man sorry to hear. My 97 had precipitation as well, but I kind of fixed it. I just put a lot of sealant eventhough it didn't look the greatest. I mean, for me...only the Acura techs are going to look under the hood...I didn't care. haha.

Well, I finally got the problem fixed, I think. It has been raining and the lens is still clear. I did the same thing you did, I just poured sealant on the edges. I took a lot of pictures, but I haven't put them on cardomain yet. I will probably take car of that tomorrow. Did you check my page out yet?
