Default Modifications / products u regret buying

Let's see what stuff u guys added on, that turned out to be a waste of money. If u replaced it w/something else, what did u get? No whoring please

i'll go first:

Tokico HPs (blues) - softer than stock, started leaking after 30k miles. replaced them with gabs (50k on them, still solid)

Eibach Pro Kits - went with these because of their solid reputation. ended up lowering one side lower than the other. took them out, and the springs were lopsided. sent them back to eibach, for another set under warranty. same thing happened. gave up, switched to neuspeed sport. perfect springs from an aesthetic standpoint, but soft for aggressive driving. swapped them out for H&R race, which i was finally happy with.

DC ceramic 4-2-1 header - no brainer. i shouldve known they would crack sooner or later.

autometer a/f meter - little more than a crude voltmeter. inaccurate because it often displays more than one LED at a time.

RS Akimoto intake - typical filter on a stick design. bought it in '95 before the whole CAI thing started. replaced it with....OEM

Floor Mats - Didn't shop around for a good price, just bought the first ones I saw and got ripped off.

Trunk Mat - Got ripped off for this too. I don't even use the mat much, it's upstairs right now.

License Plate Frame - pointless mod I just decided to waste my money on.

RS*R Header - Got this and the next week I see a used JDM 4-1 for hella cheap =\.

Jdm Shift boot - Got this just because the sticking is the same color as the car...

Well I haven't done much to my car yet other than suspension, so I don't think really any money has been wasted yet. I love my current H&R Sport+Koni yellow setup.

Now on my old car, base model 1989 Camry, I wasted ALOT of money on that, especially right before I sold the car. I spent $300 on a project to relocate the battery to the trunk (incl. the price of the Optima Red Top battery). Spent more money trying to build a custom intake, trying to build a custom 10" bass tube, various other stuff.

Tokico HP's - Worse than stock shocks...Total waste of money.

Neuspeed Race Springs - Way too low for daily driving in my opinion. It looks awesome and handles like a dream, but it was too stiff to handle bumps/potholes.

40 Series Tires - BFG Euro's...not enough sidewall protection for the roads here in KC. I bent 3 rims in 3 months from hitting small bumps at low speeds. I will never go smaller than a 45 series tire.

this is going to hurt me..=(

5Zigen Springs :$250 installed by shop. got rid of them because they were too low.

HR Sport: $160. Wanted adjustability. now have GC.

A couple thousand worth of stereo stuff, got rid because ears started feeling funny. and grew out of impressing people a block away.

AF gauge: thought i was shooting Nitrous...but didnt.

Euro Type R Pedals: DUH. the one on my brake is still on.

FPR: thought i was shooting Nitrous

Clear Corners: grew out of them

HyperWhites: kept blowing on my driver side.

DC ceramic header: do they really crack easily? =( =(

I don't regret any of my mods. Even thoug I've spent upwards of like, $6000-7000 now I think.

Nitrous is in the line up, engine work is in the line up...
Thankfully none of the items anyone here mentioned is.

Except my 40 series tires, which I like.

hmm, not a whole lot i regret(not a whole lot done either).

Reverse Indiglo Gauges, very cool at first but then EVERYONE got a set and i kinda grew out of it so i have an amber glow to my cluster now(much nicer to the eyes).

H&R Sports....definitely worthwhile, as well as the ITR rear sway.

I have an "ITR" shift boot but all i did was pull the stocker off, take it to an upholstery shop and paid some nice old lady 5 bucks to run red stitching along the seems, looks perfect if anyone wants to steal the idea.
