best place to install an amp in a teg?
I have a coupe.
Would placing the amp under the passenger seat be an issue? I let my car out a lot and it can sometimes get VERY hot in there.
Would mounting it behind the back seats be a problem? the amp is heavy and I doubt it will survive some spirited driving...

1) amp may be to heavy and have to have supports to get it attached and stay there.
2) if you don't have the hatch cover, it is out in the open for thieves to see
3) if you need to put your seats down to bring something large, the amp may get in the way and even damaged
if you mounted your amp under your passenger seat, does it get in the way when letting rear seat passengers in and out?
edit: i just remembered i dont have a back seat anymore  but i'd still like to know, cuz sometimes i have to move the seat to get things in the back.

I am also worried about the heat. Last summer, it was so hot that the cd jewel case in my car melted :/ My cell phone was toasted at the same time as well. It was... extremely hot. Don't want to have the same thing happen with this amp

95-teggy... are you serious? screwing it to the plywood? With the weight of the amp (30lbs?) it wouldn't last very long. I am even more worried about screwing it on the back seat, but it seems a little bit more secure I guess. How your amp handle g-force? I tend to be aggressive on curves :/
I have my amps mounted to the back of the rear seats. and they dont leave massive holes or anything either.
Come to think of it, most of the cars ive owned, the amp's have been mounted to the back seats.
I refuse to put an amp underneath my passenger seat. Thats like overheat city, imho. I see alot of ventilation problems for big monoblock amps happening there. I guess if you've got a small 2 channel amp, it couldnt hurt.
I also like the idea of an amprack. or that carpeted plywood idea. good ideas.

Ah, and also to answer your question on the amps ability to stay put in times of eh...'spirited drving'....it holds fine. just make sure the screws are secure. ive never had a problem with my amp flying off or anything.
do it right the first time, and yuo'll be safe

hey BonzoAPD....its an integra not a stationwagon....ppl with integra dont carry large objects.....most ppl screw the amp on the back of the rear seat.....the back of the rear seat is the cleanest place that u can put an amp....if u place it under the passenger seat...there is a lil hump ryte under the passenger seat so there is no way u can screw it on and if u did screw it on...that means that there are holes on the floor of ur car which will rust in a few months cuz water will seap in.....
also on the back of the rear seat..if u feel it ..u can feel that there are like metal braces already there...juss try to screw it on that ...i did that with mines and i hadnt have a problem......did u get a capacitor? u gonna need it cuz wit an amp like that..ur alternator will die in a few months.....

1) we know its not a station wagon
2) people put the rear seats down a lot when shipping things, big boxes, etc.
3) that little hump on the underside of the seat can be beaten down
4) the raised area of the floor that the seat rails bolt to in front isn't an issue for mounting, my amp is pressed right up against it.
