The reason why you don't want it mounted to the box is becuase you don't want to rattle the crap out of it. It can ruin the electrical parts on the inside. I mounted mine under the rear seat in one of my integras. I think it is a good Idea to make a place in your trunk to bolt it to like the plywood thing.

Tapping screws into the frame of the backseat cushions worked for me, i'm running 2 amps that weigh like 8-12 pounds each...

But then you have holes in your back seat. It's okay if you don't care but it isn't very clean. Keeps them out of the way though.

SHIAT MAN JUST TAPE IT UP SOMEWHERE ULL BE FINE HAHA, Thats a big bad amp you got there by the way. What i did is i just screwed it up to that plywood sheet that goes on top of the spare to cover the hole and everything. Takes up bit of space though cause you cant put anything on top of it and stuff.

I've got one under my seat and on the back of my rear row... they both run fine with no overheating or stablity issues.

Yeah, the only reason mine fits is cause it's a Alpine 250 4/3/2 channel amp... kinda small and not a lot of heat...

But the monoblock sub amp I have would cause problems under the seat...
