5.25" won't have as much volume, and there are 6.5" which will fit (like the cadence ones). I'm sure you'd be happy with either, however.

i got sony exploid and stock in the back. i have 6.5 and had not prob what so ever besides cutting the back out. but they are a mid class speaker. they sound pretty good but they dont handle bass well. they tend to get blurry even though my bass is a neg 4 of 8. but i plan to replace them and move them to the back so its not a real big deal.

Ok, car audio was more than a hobby to me before I got my Teg, that's all I did before the car, so I know my shit. Here is what you do. Cut the black plastic backing off like everyone has told you to do. Yes, you need those foam baffles to keep water out. www.partsexpress.com for those, they aren't expensive. Get 6.5, they won't affect your windows. I have Infinity Kappa Perfect Comps that are some of the deepest mids on the market, and they don't affect my windows at all. Back speakers, you could get comps, but the you have to find a place to mount the tweeter, so I would just stick with a 6.5 coax. speaker. It is a stock size, so it's easy to put in. Stick with Infinity, good brand, decent price. I would at least get the Kappa line though, that reference has had some bad reviews. There is always better stuff, but you aren't building a stereo so I think these speakers will be more than enough for you. Good luck and let us know how it sounds.

Good prices on Infiniti stuff. I think the 6.5" shallow mounts are like $56 each.

For speakers handling 150watts, that is damn good. In my old car, I was running two 5 1/4" xplods in the back, and two infinit references (same size) in the front. Each speaker only could stand 50 watts max. So you would have to massivly power those things with an amp and crank the fcuk out of them to get them to blow. But thats imho. Stick with infinity or boston acoustics for speakers, they make quality stuff. As far as subs, I would go with rockford fosgate or jl. Probably jl w7's, those would bump the crap out of your car. But do whatever suits your needs, i'm not sure if you really need that much power

white lightning...thats what i needed to hear. thanks. so im pretty sure im gonna go with the kenwood kdc-722.(when its closed, you can't even tell you have a cd player, it recesses back so it can be flush with everything else:naughty: )

i went to best buy to check out some diff things today. they have rockford fosgate components and then some fosgate titanium 2 ways for the back, 6.5" for both. i have a friend who works there so he could prob get these things for me for real cheap. and that 4 year warranty sounds nice...i could j/ blow everything and get brand new stuff at like 3.5 years haha. but do you think those speakers would be good. im planning on putting in subs sometime too. one last thing, should i get a 4 way amp to run to my speakers as well? thanks for the help

actually Sony Xplod had a line up of really really good amps back in the day. the XM-7527, XM-7557, (the third i think was the XM 7537, or XM-7547). These amps had exceptional electronics, mosfet power, and 1/2 ohm stable. (the base 7527 could push out 600 watts at 1/2 ohm and is stable!).

other than those three, i agree SONY is total crap. I personally wouldnt touch a sony product with a 10 foot pole.
