Cut the black plastic backing off like everyone has told you to do. Yes, you need those foam baffles to keep water out. www.partsexpress.com for those, they aren't expensive. Get 6.5, they won't affect your windows. I have Infinity Kappa Perfect Comps that are some of the deepest mids on the market, and they don't affect my windows at all. Back speakers, you could get comps, but the you have to find a place to mount the tweeter, so I would just stick with a 6.5 coax. speaker. It is a stock size, so it's easy to put in. Stick with Infinity, good brand, decent price. I would at least get the Kappa line though, that reference has had some bad reviews. There is always better stuff, but you aren't building a stereo so I think these speakers will be more than enough for you. Good luck and let us know how it sounds.
