1. The breather filters don't help anything, they are just a dressup.
2. They are not smog legal in cali, you can get a smog ticket for this.

There was a thread on this a while back saying what the breathers actually do that is not good for the motor, and I believe it had to do with not properly venting.

According to overboost.com, in order for peak power to be produced the pcv system MUST BE CONNECTED. It allows the rings to seal tighter and helps keep oil from the combustion chamber. Oil causes less agreesive tune and inc octane requirement. w/ turbo or supercharger you can run 2-3 more lbs of boost before detonation. If its connected.
