I may be brand new (under this name atleast) to the forum but.....when torque counts (you know, in a race) when are you ever below 3k RPM's? I always launch at 3k RPM and it usually stays there or above while I get going. After that, you never hit below there because you are always shifting at the top of every gear. Besides the point don't MOST engines lacks much torque in the lower R's? Correct me if I am wrong but there are no peak torque outputs that come at 3k RPM or lower.

Default Turboed 96 LS

My '96 LS w/Greddy Turbokit doesn't even start to spool up the turbo until AFTER 3K RPM........the torque is usually the strongest at around 4 - 5K RPM and boy is it STRONG! One of these days, I am gonna break my tranny :naughty:

Scott.

Also, if your motor is stock, stay with a smaller turbo unit and keep your boost below 6 psi otherwise start looking for a new motor soon enough. I got the Greddy for 3 reasons:

1) Relatively safe when used at factory settings.

2) Smog exempt in California.

3) Quality kit that bolts right in with good instructions.

If they only made a supercharger with the on-the-fly adjustability of a turbo setup... I'd be one happy SOB

Personally, I'm entertaining the idea of a custom intercooled JRSC... but I don't know too much about those, beyond the basics...

***thread whoring***

Anyone have some good info on intercooled JRSC setups, and what options are available?
