motor swap info
B20B is a DOHC non-VTEC equipped engine with around 140 HP. The GSR is a smaller engine, but equipped with VTEC, runs at 170 HP. GSR is the best candidate, unless you intend to put together a hybrid engine of a B20 bottom end and GSR head.
well i was always told that the b20 is a great motor cause of the torque. i dont know how much exactly but it is up there i think. and also i have been told that it is the best for a turbo too cause of its torque and that a turbo takes over vtec anyways so it is pointless to have
but what if i wanted to go turbo and with all of that torque from the b20 combined with the turbo should make the best power, dont ya think? and i would do a hybrid but i have heard that they are not reliable at all as well as the ls vtec
You sound like you want to do the swap already. If you dont want your GSR motor though, I'll take it off your hands.
Basically, what everyone is gonna say is, yes, the B20 will probably yeild a high hp and tq rating in the end. Thats after thousands and thousands invested. With the GSR engine there still is a lot of potential and at a much cheaper price. If you've got money to burn, go for the B20, reliability shouldnt be as big an issue if you can afford it. If you are working on a more limited budget, or want to keep the cost low, keep the GSR. They're reliable and do respond well to turbo, despite vtec. It's a more simple project and will yeild probably the most hp per dollar invested. But, as I said earlier, if you want the best of the best, go for B20, just be prepared to invest a small fortune in your car.

yeah i thought it wouldnt be cheap but my friend just started his own shop and his partner wants my motor and said he would buy me a b20. i still am undecided bout the whole thing and the reason is, is that i am a hudge vtec fan and that is the whole reason i bought my car in the first place. but i am looking to build the ultimate street car to street race. hhhmmmm i still dont know! does anyone know how much torque the b20 has
If you're looking to build the ultimate street car to street race (not a good idea with cops really starting to crack down hard on that), you might want to consider a different platform. Integra's a nice car, but if you want something FAST, you'll never get it from a FWD 4banger. Quick, but never the quickest. If you're looking for power, get a TT Supra. If you cant afford it, surprisingly mid to early 90 300zx TT's can be found for very cheap and in great condition. Many people overlook the car, but with very little money it can easily destroy pretty much 90% of the cars you come across on the road.
But, if you really love the integra that much, I wouldnt try and make it into the fastest thing on 4 wheels. You probably never will. Its just the limitations of the car. Its small, its fun to drive, but it'll never be the fastest car out there. There's always a little bad with good. And even when you're modding it, there's always the classic rule to follow - Cheap, Fast, Reliable, you can only have 2.

well i guess i should have specified that i am quite partial to my honda and i meant a "honda street car", i can not afford the insurance on a supra or a 3000zx. and to tell you, around here i see supras and 300zx get beat by integras. i just want to reall fast integra that beats most of the other hondas, thats all
