$1100?

I usually tell people to take their cars to Honda dealerships rather than Acura dealerships. Usually the markup is less and we can use almost all of the parts from the 6th gen SIs.

My local Honda dealership (Curtis Ryan) is usually about 1/2 the price of the local Acura dealership (Acura of Milford). The guys at Curtis Ryan could not believe what I was paying at Acura...the only difference was Acura washed the car.

Just the gasket headset for my 91 is over $200 I am sure it is more for one that new.
I don't think it is that difficult to do yourself but that assumes more than a basic idea of how to change a tire. There is precision equipment involved so if you are not sure pay the money to have it done right.

only $60/hour?? in the land of dealership labor rates, that's really cheap...especially for acura.

Headgasket is not easy to change, it's not something simple like changing your brakes or sparkplugs. I recommend you pay the $500 or so and get in done right. Make sure you ask if the shop will back up their work with some kind of warranty.

I suppose you aren't replacing your head bolts?
