Default basic info for lowering

This may seem dumb, but I am just looking for the basic info and necessary items that I would need to lower my 96 RS integra. I want to lower it about 2 in.

Thanks any info or links will help.

You need springs and shocks for the lowering but would also need to have a socket and rachet set with a torque wrench. I'm not sure about the 3g's but the 2g's you need to replace the lock nut for the damper fork but these are cheap from the dealer. Depending on what you want to do with the car is going to tell you what spring and shock combo.

Thanks 90'RS, but I'm gonna need a little help with lingo. What is 2g's and 3g's. sorry may be a really dumb question but gotta ask it.

And i'm trying to lower it a couple of inches to get rid of that ugly tire gap, do you have any suggestions on which type of spring/shocks I should get. I still want the ride to be nice, not to bumpy.

Thanks

I just lowered my car about 3 inches on a set of ground controls. I still have stock shocks and the ride quality isnt too bad.

You have a '96 RS. That's 3G, short for 3rd Generation.

A lot of people (including myself) are lowered on H&R Sport springs, on stock shocks.

it depends on how much you wanna spend.

Tein coilover have multi-adjustable settings. I'm not sure but height may be one of them.

A lot of people get H&R (pretty darn good brand) and eibachs. I've got tokicos which suit me just fine. They usually have 2 different set of springs... sport and race. The race is usually lower. Different companies have different heights drop for the car. Most springs from these companies have already been tested, so it shouldn't settle your car at all if any..

Whatever you do. . . PLEASE don't cut the springs. You'll cause more headache than its worth...

going that low will blow your stock shocks. and sooner rather than later.

The thing is I don't really have a set budget, but i'm looking for lower end of the pricing on these items. Not cheap and crappy, but cheaper and decent. I'll start looking into prices for each of those brands that were posted.

Thanks
