jack up the right side of ur car, take off the front right wheel and peel back the fender lining. thats where the second piece will be. (the plastic screws j/ pulled right out for me, no problems at all) and it will hydrolock if the entire filter is submerged in water. switching from CAI to short ram depending on weather j/ seems like a pain to me. I have the AEM CAI w/ out a bypass valve and drive it in the rain all the time, never had a problem. its not hard to look at the ground infront of you and move a little to the left or right to miss puddles

You should also take into account how the area you are in reacts to rain. Does water build up alot on the roads? If not then there's not alot to worry about. From my understanding, you prettymuch have to submerge your CAI to get it to suck enough water in it to Hydrolock your engine.

All filters should have an oily coating that keeps water from getting in. However, I suppose if the filter is submerged, some water will inevitably find its way in.
