Default 8.5lb flywheel

I just bought a 8.5 lb flywheel and I was just wondering how much quicker will my car be? will it be worth it?

Very much quicker, and very worth it. Why people ask these questions after they buy parts, I'll never know

Well.... It might help out some, but alot of people say it helps out acceleration some... but then again that heavy flywheel gets alot of momentum so it spins easier...

If you have a light flywheel, and say it didn't do shit but a little bit, either it's not light enough or you don't know what you're talking about. I noticed a HUGE difference between stock and my 7.5lb, and so did everyone else I know that has one.

when your clutch is engaged that heavy flwheel doesn't do anything but slow your engine down

Exactly. Sure it keeps its momentum better when you are not in the throttle, but when you're in the throttle there is no comparison to how much faster the light flywheel spins.

I have an 8.5 lb one, but I believe you'll notice a bigger difference in acceleration with a faster car. I have a GS motor and have honestly not noticed a great deal of difference yet everyone with a faster motor, or forced induction, that has one say they love it and its alot quicker.

I have an LS motor just like you, all I had was intake and exhaust when I got my clutch and flywheel combo, and the others had the same but also a header. We all noticed a big acceleration difference. :dunno:
