Default Ran Compression Test, Bad News...

well i ran a test again today and got results that turned out like this 130-130-135-145....+or- 5 or so....i know thats low for a GSR, it should be about 40psi or so higher, but anyway i got high miles too, 135,xxx.....so i think its about time, i dont believe i burn white smoke, at least no excessively, so im assuming its a even wear among my rings...anyone else have any similiar results? any opinions on whats next? i was thinking a nice fresh set of JDM ITR pistongs and wrings would be nice! tell me what u guys think...thanx in advance

well in case u didnt follow the link just simply pull the 15A fuse from the box labeled ECU, then pull all the spark plugs out, screw in the adapter for the compression tester into the first cylinder and hold the gas pedal all the way down and crank that biotch four times and watch the compression, repeat it a couple times

I checked mine about two weeks ago with only one plug out and the coil wire off. came up with 180 - 190 psi on a 94 GSR with 182,000 miles. According to this it should go higher than that going by this procedure? I was happy with my original results for the miles I have, although they are 95% highway miles. Thats a testament to the importance of frequent oil changes and not skimping on oil quality.

Dam, those compression #s are low. I got 220+ on all 4 cylinder on my 94gsr with 120k miles.

ive never heard of a GSR yielding those high of numbers on a stock motor, those are more towards ITR #'s...and nah these aint low, right where i need to be with all these miles, in fact they are average even for a newer GSR, im happy

note: after posting this i realized im on my bros name, im actually ChillOutWayne

above 200 is normal for a gsr.... and i'm pretty sure you are supposed to do the comp. test with one plug out at a time....

Why would it matter how many plugs are out? Each cylinder's compression is independent of all other cylinders.
