Looking great!

Take your time, it'll come out better because there's much to learn along the way.

I've already done this once before. Acura said they would have my head gasket in by today and its not here yet. Tomorrow I have jury duty, busy on Friday, and I'm taking the boat out on the lake on Saturday. So I guess I wont be working on it until Sunday.

Just a quick question. Did you pack the oil pump before you installed it? I forgot to on my first build and wiped all the bearings.

Since the oil pump isn't new I just left some oil in it while I installed it. I didn't have a problem last time and I don't expect to have one this time either. So its 98 degrees here today so I was hoping to hear from Acura earlier but I guess I'm going to have to stop in and ask them if they got it in yet.

Well 15 minutes after my last post I got the call from Acura. They finally got me the correct head gasket. Because it was so hot out (At least for Oregon) I didn't really stop to take too many pictures.

Before I started any work for the day. Had my friend Q come give me a hand (Foot in pic)

So I had Q hold the head (He couldn't hold it still so its a little blurry) and I saw the the combustion chamber on the left looked worse than the others.

Just that cylinder

Got the head on and torqued down

Where I finished for today... I also installed new NKG V-power spark plugs. Was told that I should get a different heat range plug to run the higher compression pistons. Depending on my plans for tomorrow I will either work on it then or finish on Sunday. I'll take a video of the start up.

Ever had any issues torquing down the cam holder bolts? I used a micro inch pound torque wrench, and the bolts never wanted to set right. Seemed they just kept stretching. Ended up doing them all by hand.

No, they never have been an issue for me. Last time I installed my head one of the longer center head bolts pulled the threads right out of the block though. It was a pain to helicoil though.

Well as much as I would like to get my car finished I'm not going to work on it tomorrow. I got really sunburned when I was out on the lake today. The picture takes some of the red out and my entire back is burned too. Hope its not as bad on Tuesday or Wednesday.

An update with no pictures. Engine is in the car but only bolted in. I still have to hook up the exhuast and everything else to the engine. Might get done tomorrow night or Saturday. I'll have a video of the start up.

One question... So I didn't adjust my valve lash. Should I remove the valve cover and do it or will I be alright just leaving it alone?
