Launching a GS-R correctly.....
Honestly i dont bog at 2.8k, I bog at anything under 2.8. Also I've tried launching at 4 k, and I burn too much tire, most likely due to the fact that my tires are very worn. But I will try what you said about bringing it up to 8.2, and switching into 2nd from there.

the GSR makes all its power at high rpms, you want to shift each gear as close to the redline as you can if you are racing in a straight line. I usually rev up to about 3-4k when launching, you just have to get the hang of launching from high rpms with minimal tire spin.

You guys are all wrong, redline on the GSR is 8000, fuel cutoff as per the helms manual is 8100, so there is no way that you are shifting at 8200. Your tach is off if it says 8200.

As for the original poster, the GSR is a sitting duck below 6000 rpms.
