Default transmission conversion

Just in case my transmission is about to go up im starting to save up some cash on a new one.. I tried searching the forums to see if anybody on here has converted their automatic transmission to a manual one but didnt see anything.

Was wondering how much something like this would cost and if anybody has had some experience, is it even worth it?

The car is still worth a good amount of money(around $8k) so i definitely don't want to get rid of it.

alright, i am about to have my auto to manual swap completed. It costs alot of money but i think its worth it. heres what i got.

99 ls tranny- 400
shift linkage-50
place racing auto to manual bracket-160
pedals, master cylinder and line-150
act street strip clutch
extreme pressue plate
skunk 2 short shifter-592.90
fidanza flywheel-289
ecu-100
console-90
quaife lsd-800
rear motor mount- 160
labor-650
-----------
total-3441

i got a pretty good deal on the tranny and shift linkage, but the other parts are about normal cost. This is all of the things that you need, you can use the stock flywheel, clutch, shifter, and dont get an lsd, but i wanted to make my tranny really good so i bought the best stuff. The reason why i decided to do it is because the auto trannys suck and honestly its kinda embarasing to have an automatic integra that looks fast, i plan on getting turbo, driving a 5 speed is fun, and it will make my car faster. Also buying part by part is what i did because its hard to save up all of that money at once.

thanks for the reply man.. didnt think it would cost that much.. i was thinking around $2000 to $2500 tops. Making me think more and more about just selling my teg and grabbing a new rsx.

it could cost that much, if you dont get the quaife. you really dont need it. i know turbo ls with out quaife that run low 13 with just clutch and pressure plate. I don't like the rsx that much either, i've driven one, its about as fast as an si.

yeah i understand, so if you dont want all of the performance stuff, then you could go to a junk yard and get a tranny out of a newer integra and all of the parts for cheap. it would prob cost about 1k and then install.

The effects of the quaife are felt primarily in the car's handling characteristics; it has a pretty minimal effect on 1/4 mile times. With that said it's definitely an excellent upgrade in the handling department.

youre looking at an average price of $2k installed for the auto->manual conversion..then you add more $$$ if you want to upgrade other stuff

I have a much, much, easier and more cost effective way to get a manual transmission.

Take Stock Car
Go to dealership
Sell stock car for more than you owe on it
Buy new car with extra money as down payment
be sure to include a manual transmission with the new car
go home and laugh that you didnt spend "3441" on a transmission, in a Honda.

Done.
