well itr intake throttle body is if i'm not mistaken larger than ls, so thats why you would be better off putting the reduction from 3 to 2.5 since the pipe and the rubber fitting is 3'. Now there is not much diffrence between ITR aem and ls but ITR is 3' so most liklly you get a little more air thru it. think of this, why would they make 2 diffrent kinds of intakes ,if it they were preforming the same. Why waste money on making a 3' for a type r, integra is an integra right lol???????

Because since the ITR starts out with 55 hp more than the LS, it needs the larger piping.

A motor is an air pump. The amount of air it can suck in and then pump out is *basically* how much power it can make. Just because you stick a larger diameter pipe on the intake side of an LS motor, doesn't mean it's going to be able to suck more air through that pipe. It'll suck in basically the same amount of air, just at a lowed velocity because there's more volume in the pipe.

Basically, the smaller diameter pipe is already more than enough available airflow for all but the most heavily modified LS motors and the larger pipe just provides more headroom rather than an increase in the amount of air going into the motor.
