Default jack placement

I know this was discussed a few weeks ago, and I did a search, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer as to the exact place to put the jack when I wanna jack up the entire front end. I saw the "arrow" on the underside of the front air dam, and was wondering- do you put the jack directly on that plastic arrow, or to where it points? The chilton's manual has a picture, but it's pretty blurry and grainy.

thanks, homer

If you still have your splashguard...theres a cutout for it. Its just a "bump", and the plastic is actually cut out to accomodate it.

I've tried jacking on the front portion and the jack never gets the car high enough to get the jackstands to clear. Same with jacking the rear tow hook . I end up using a block of mdf and jacking on the body, which prolly isnt the best thing to do. Anyone have a solution to this?

what kind of jack are you using?
and how low is your car?
even with the stock jack under the front jack point, and on some 4" high blocks, i could fit jackstands
now i use my craftsman jack and can hella fit underneath

I'm dropped ~1.3" on pro-kits. I bought my 2ton jackstands and jack from autozone. Maybe i need a bigger jack?

on a standard run of the mill jack from pepboys/autozone and the like, the middle jack point isnt enough to raise up the front end for jackstands, unless the very lowest setting is fine. mine was a pain the ass, but i had to jack up the front end up from the front tow hook, then jack up the side from the side rear jackpoint, only then i was able to slide the jackstand at the desired height under the side front jackpoint.
