Default Question for those who have gone to Discount Tire

I just ordered a set of falken azenis sports.
I was wondering if it's worth it to do discount tire's computer ride match? I know the treadlife on azenis is shortlived, so I was wondering if the extra 50$ is even worth it. Does the computer ride match just help on treadlife or is there more to it?

Also, do you guys think it is worth the 50$ to purchase the tire replacement deal? I intend to autox somewhat, and I was wondering if azenis have gone bad/defective from racing for anyone?

tia

What's "computer ride match"? Is that somehow different from balancing the wheels?

Yeah, it is different from balancing. I didnt quite understand the guy but it is supposed make the actual fitment of the tire on the wheel more accurate. I just dont want to be suckered into throwin my money away you know? But if it really works I'd like to know.

I think I know what you are talking about. I work in a Toyota dealership and we have a new Hunter road force variation and wheel balancing machine, which is more than likely the same one they have. Anyway, if you are talking about what I'm thinking about, all that does is measure the rims high and low spots and the tires high and low spots and then tells you where to line them up for better tire balancing and a smoother ride.

Yeah, waste of time and money. Get your wheels/tires balanced and rotated, and true your alignment.

discount tire will not warranty a tire that has worn out unless it has a manufacturer warranty. the azenis dont. and since they are sold as a high performance tire, with a low tread wear rating, the chances of getting them warrantied for anything is slim.

hey whats up guy, well i work for discount tire and i would not do the ride match simply cause it is really for people who have vibration problems.it does not increase tread life, it is just like the other guy said it measures the heavey spots in the tire and matches the tire and wheel perfect...as far as the tire replacment or certs as we call them, i would get those casue regaurdless of whether you autox or not what will you do if you get a nail in the sidewall?we wont be able to fix cause of safty issues so we would replace it for free cause yo have the certs, and when you order the tires ask the guy if it comes with a milage warrenty, cause if it does and you drive 20,000 miles on the tires and the milage warrenty says that it will go up to 30,000 miles and they are worn evenly at 20,000 then we will do a milage adjustment cause it did not reacht eh 30,000, so check it out and let me know.
thanks, justin

jaydub, I have a question for you.

I just got back from discount tire and I took a closer look at my wheels... the inner lip (the ring around where the center cap goes) where they bolt down the wheel onto the balancer -- the paint is chipped on all the wheels . 3 of them have small chips and the 4th rim has three separate chipped spots. Is this a common thing or did this guy not do it right? And do you know if discount tire is liable or am I just shafted?

These are buddy club p1 gunmetal rims so I dont think it is because they are cheap rims. I probably wouldnt care so much but these are brand new rims that havent been used. What do you think?
