GS-R Idle too low?

my old gs-r idled at 600 rpms since the day i got it, till the day it was totalled. then after the block was against the light pole, it still idled at 600 just as smooth as ever.

if it is idling at 600 and the computer isn't throwing a code for anything, dont worry.

Try cleaning your throttle body. Spray some carb or throttle body cleaner and scrub around with an old toothbrush. Make sure you clean the back of the throttle plate, this should raise your idle slightly.

on a 2001? i highly doubt it.

Check the back of the throttle plate... even after 15000kms it gets pretty dirty. Can't hurt to clean it, it's a regular tune up item to clean the throttle body.
