Default Auto to Manual

So i had a 91 teg 4dr 5 spd and managed to total it. Kept the engine and tranny, never even disconnected them, no reason, still worked fine. Now i have an automatic 2 dr, same year and engine, but i want to swap it over to a manual trans. Fortunately its a cable clutch. As far as i know, all i need it the pedals, cable, and hope the car starts when i turn the key. Just wondering what kind of problems im likely to have...i imagine its not going to be as easy as just dropping it in...

No its not take it from my experiance. Make sure you take your time, do not rush though it. My car swap went horrible the "Performance" Shop did a horrible job, and charged me double what they originally said. (My dumb ass went with it anyways)

If you want reverse lights make sure you do the Neutral safty switch right and not bypass it. I still have no Fucking reverse lights got one warning so far.

Since you have all the parts, I think the hardest or the most pain in the ass thing is the clutch pedel. I wish you luck on your swap.

Actually that is my biggest concern. The car is going to need to know that its allowed to start. I know that automatic transmissions have an "inhibitor switch" to let the car know its in neutral or park, must be the same as the neutral safety switch. I do all my own work so im not worried about costing money, im just wondering if i may just be wasting my time. Bummer is i really like this body...

If you know how to do it, and have the tools and stuff i say go for it. I love my new manuel teg huge difference. Ya a nutreal safty switch is the same part as auto just the manuel part.
