last step..lower car
koni reds are OEM replacements and therefore are not adjustable.. are you from the states? cuz in us funds,. the koni yellows will cost pretty much the budget of 500 bucks you have. correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure hr RACE are the ones with a lower front (2.25 front, 2.0 rear) and their sport versions are 1.8 drop front and back?? im pretty sure thats it... i recommend hr sport 1.8 drop all round and also stock shocks wouldnt be TOO bad on those springs but if your shocks do blow just go for oem replacement.. 1.8 dorp isnt all that bad.. i have a friend thats civic is runnin on jhr sports and hes been on his stock shocks for about 3 years now and still pretty comfy... u might not need a camber kit but i suggest you get an alignment first then see hwo bad or out of what your toe, caster, camber and so on is... u might be able to get away withnot neding a camber kit.. but the most important thing is getting an alignment or your tires will wear out not only from the camber but as the tow misalignment... hth and good luck with your decision,,,!
ok my bad for the teg i searched it up and the front IS lower than the back very slighty... i fyou want an even drop and not pa too much for a good set of springs i would recommend neuspeed springs.. their drops are even all way.. i have nuespeed race with koni yellows on my g2 setup.. and the wheelgaps are barely noticeably diff but i rather have the car flat than inclined down in the front... just looks better to me... but koni yellows are really good schocks.. adjutable height and firmness adn a lifetime warrantee! cant go wrong... i cant imagine riding on race springs with anything lower than koni yellows... the nuespeed springs are a lto stiffer than most other shocks i believe...
Coilover kits/sleeves use springs with linear rates, which is why the ride quality is generally harsher.
My GC + Koni yellow combo works very well, and I'm very happy with it, although the ride may be too rough judging from your post. Cost $800 for the parts alone.

I've been doing some research on springs (just ordered em)....if you're looking for looks, go for Eibach Sportlines. They won't lower so much (1.7 inch) that you have to replace anything (it would help, though).
stock strust last a while depending hwo you drive it.. i know my stock g2 tegs shocks had about 105 clicks on it and it didnt really need changing but when i wanted race springs i knew i had to get koni yellows.. oh yeah btw about the drop heighst... gen 2 tegs have all flat drops all round from hr and neuspeed// tegs 94 and up are always lower int he front.. sorry.
Koni Red shocks are indeed adjustable. You have to take them off the car to adjust them but they are adjustable.
If you just want to lower the car and have a good ride I would reccomend Progress springs (they lower a fair bit without being that stiff) and Bilstein shocks. You'll get a good combo and not have to think about it any further than the install.
Once you put the new parts on, be sure to take your car to an alignment shop and have them check out your specs. Get the alignment done and if they reccomend a camber kit you may want to consider getting one.
