Default Underbody paint (subframe)...

Hey guys,

I've finally found a welder and getting around to having my subframe tearout repaired. He'll reweld/patch the split seams around the sway bar mount points, then grind/smooth out the surface. But before mounting the ASR brace and sway bar, I'd like to have that area painted (to avoid rust) but wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on the type of paint to use (rust prevention, paint durability, color match, etc.).

It'd be awesome if someone knows where I can get the paint Honda uses.

Thanks,

A-dub

Unless you're showing, just get some of the spray undercoating from the local parts store. Best for rust prevention.

With the underbody , you should definitely spray it so that it doesn't rust any further.

Understood, but any brand I should be looking for (Rustoleum, etc.)? I know it seems like the question has been answered, but I don't want to end up with low quality paint that'll start chipping/flaking off after.

Thanks, guys.

If you're looking at paint, Krylon is always good. As for spray on undercoating, the manufacturer is not that important.

I used BBQ grill paint for my exhaust. Goes on black, resists high heat, and rust.
