i had an ebay shifter in my car at one point, and it wasnt the potential for it breaking that pissed me off, it was just the design and build quality. like mentioned before there are inherent design flaws (resonance/vibration, wrong pivot point etc etc).

 

True. Mine had a rattle at higher RPMs, didn't bother me too much. Now I just stay away from short shfters period.
