I'm not really looking into getting the Skunk2 stage 2 cams because that requires me to buy new valvesprings and retainers. So I've kinda decided to chose between the CTR cams or the ITR cams. And I'm just wondering if anyone is positive on which give more power or if they are equal. And what is the difference between 2000 ITR cams and 2001 ITR cams? Or is there a difference? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken (please correct me if I'm wrong) the intake cam is the only place where there is a difference. ITR exhaust cam = CTR exhaust cam for all years; the CTR intake cam was more aggressive than the ITR intake cam pre-01'; for 01' both had equal profiles. Anyone care to correct this?

So if I were to get the 2001 ITR cams or CTR cams they would be the same then? Like same over all hp gain?

Uh huh, that'd be interesting to see since there is no 404 for the VTEC engine.

Yes, the cams have the same profile. Get whatever is cheaper (most people go with CTR intake cam + ITR exhaust cam)

402's...those are not as aggressive as 404's. I'd expect the 404's to have a rough idle, but many people who actually HAVE them told me that it idles like stock, given the proper tuning. If you guys go to the crower website, the 404's require an ECU mod for a reason. How many of you guys actually HAVE the 404's? I'm not trying to start anything, but I'm plannin on getting some 404's myself for a daily driver, and don't wanna be discouraged by people who have not experienced these cams and are giving different advice and comments about them...

But a decent one... I was about to start a thread on this exact topic BTW.

I'm looking at the 402-2s for my 97 LS.... And from what I've read...the [ non-vtec ]403's will have a tough time passing smog in CA. h:

I'll be absolutely floored if an LS motor with the "full race cams" (see pdf images included) can pass a legit smog check anywhere. h:
Just look at the duration...308° Intake / 305° Exhaust !

For further info...download the catalog from Crower's website.
