I'd pay that if I could afford it. I'd love to have a clean unmolested Type-R.
My buddy paid near that for a 97 ITR with <1,000 miles on it. He bought it from the guy at Fluidyne.

Jimmi jammers for anti slim jim
hood cable relocate to engine bay
hood latch block off plate
mod power door lock switches so they only lock
fuel cut off switch on the GROUND side of the wiring
security bolts/screws for your ecu
modify wiring into ignition and into ecu so that its difficult to remove from their respective plugs (hard to explain on the interweb, its a technique that good installers know)
backup battery from your alarm
install the main alarm brain behind the driver side rear passenger panel
install a dummy alarm brain under the dash
install siren under the fender
theres tons of more "tricks" out there. anything to "delay" or "challenge" the would-be thief into giving up or taking more time for him to be exposed is the name of the game. in the end, since its a type-r, the thieves would probably go straight to wear you keep your keys and just drive off with your car or go with a tow-truck, or both

i guess you dont read the stolen itr threads from HT very often.
its defeatable, and people become reliant on it and skimp on the other security aspects. and the OP said they probably dont offer lojack in canada

You know what would be cool? Bluetooth security that would give anyone that isn't you a little zap if they tried to touch the car. Once you come within proximity, the electric current will cut off. However, there would probably be an issue if a cat jumped on your hood or something h:
