The rest of the car though... is what he has to worry about.

Sure, the driveline was strong -- but everything else broke all the time.

I think he's risking the same thing with 160k miles.

 

true, very true. honda bodies aren't know to last long - and if your in the saltbelt - expect 13 years max before oxidation of metal begins to appear.

 

yes sh1t starts going bad at that mileage but it can do the same thing at 80k miles. Most of my repairs were done at about 140k.

 

i'm about to buy a teg too, and im not getting anything over 90k, you can call me picky, but I'm just being safe... I don't want to worry about it breakin on me. I'd go with the loan idea and get lower milage if you are on a low budget. good luck though deciding

 

i bought my teg with 99K miles - after the tune-up the acura mechanic told me "that integra is running great for its age! the idle isn't irratic, no leaks, compression is great...you got a great car!" i wanted to kiss him - but i didn't of course.

 

Just take it to a mechanic and have him check everything before you buy it, that just my 2¢.

it depents on how the car was taken care of. i got mine 9 months ago with 136k. Now it has 144k and not 1 problem or any signs of problems. It's a 94 ls.
