Maybe you have an aftermarket tank? I know the last time I filled up it was almost empty and i threw 11gal in........ Or maybe mines aftermarket

On the weight note its entirely possible. I weigh in at 268. Maybe its just me having sticker shock going from my 2k Civic which i was getting 30 when i was hammering on it. Im gonna try to do some tweaks and see where it gets me. I will keep you all posted!

I just came across pg. 3-7 in the Helms which states the following:

Fuel Tank Capacity
US gal -13.2
lmp gal - 11.0

What does this mean?

An Imperial (United Kingdom) gallon is about 1.2 times larger than a US liquid gallon. 153.7 ounces vs 128 ounces. This is in US ounces as they are 1.04 times larger than UK ounces. Makes the Metric system seem easy!

Well considering i took all the weight outta the car (excess gear) and drove down the highway and was still averageing 23-24.... well shes going back into the shop. I had forgot to mention i just had the timing belt changed so i think the timeing is def off!

Since nobody mentioned it, have you checked to make sure the tires are inflated correctly and the wheels aligned? I went from low 20 mpg to around 25 mpg just inflating the tires to the correct psi and setting the correct toe.

I doubt it has anything to do with the timing belt or timing. If it were off a tooth, there would be a noticeable decrease in power and it wouldn't get anywhere near 24 mpg.

you could always replace the thermostat. may seem like a strange suggestion but I was thiunking about it the other day and the whole point of it is to keep the coolant from getting cooled too much because the motor is more efficient at higher temperatutures. I know Insight fanatics will block of portions of the front grill nascar-style to get better mpg.
