Transmission Issuses?
I'm having a shifting issue, I think. When I am stopped and ready to shift, I put it in 1st and let the clutch out nice and easy. It feels like it takes into gear but when I let the clutch out all the way it makes a loud BANG! After that it will do it in 2nd or 3rd but not all the time. It drives fine after the BANG so I'm really not sure if it is indeed the tranny. Can somebody shed some light on this topic?:dunno:
Have you replaced your clutch recently?
My first thought is the pressure plate backing away from the flywheel.
Alternatively, it could be the sign of a worn throw-out bearing, although you'd hear it making noise.
And the transmission stays in gear, correct?
It doesn't pop out of gear... ever?

It never popped out of gear. It popped out of reverse once but I think I didn't have it in gear correctly. When I'm letting it warm up the clutch makes a whirling noise but when I push the clutch in the noise stops.

Also, when I was slowing down to turn, so I didn't scrape, I put it in first, pushed the clutch in and held it, hit the brakes and the front tires wanted to keep rolling, like they were fighting the brakes...Weird:werd:
Thanks for the diagnosis. I'm gonna mess with it tomorrow. Is there special kinds of throwout berrings? I mean, beacause I have a racing clutch do I need a special type of berring?

Oem or better on the bearing. Thats what most clutch websites say on their advertisements. It usually says the list of parts and on it it'll say oem throwout bearing or better. You might wanna check the rest of your clutch too and ur rear main seal etc. I'f you're gonna drop the tranny might as well replace as many things as you can while you got it apart unless money is an issue.
I'm havin' another problem now. My cousin and I replaced the throw out berring. The engine went back together a little too easy as did the cv shafts. Is it possible that the shafts are not lined up correctly eventhough they slid in with ease? My uncle thinks we did not line them up correctly. He also thinks the tranny could be worn where it meets the shafts. It makes a different bang now than it did when we started only in 1st and reverse. After the bang in 1st, the rest of the gears are smooth as silk. Any thoughts...?:wtf:
