Default Vibration upon acceleration

I have a 96 gsr with 239K miles and it runs awesome but it has vibration when I press on the accelerator. The vibration happens as soon as I press on the pedal slightly. Then the vibration stops when I let off of the pedal.

I have installed 2 front tires, 4 brembo rotors (fixed the braking vibration), Akebono pads, ss lines, and gotten an alignment. So, it's not the rotors or tires (were balanced). The rear tires WERE cupped on the inner edge but now I have the old front tires on the rear and they are fine.

I don't think it is the axles or CV joints because it does not vibrate unless I touch the gas pedal and the axles are always spinning regardless if I am pressing on the pedal or not. I also think the mounts are fine because I replaced 2 last year. I glanced at the mounts tonight and they looked ok, but I only made a quick glance.

I also changed all of the shocks last year and the 2 front wheel bearings. I don't think that it's the wheel bearings because they made a very loud noise when they were bad.

Do you have any idea? I looked in other forums but I did not see anything exactly like this.

Thanks

check out my post. I have a similar problem. Do this happen mostly around 40mph, and when going uphill? I can accelerate a full throttle in first gear and it doesn't shake, but when you hit 40 in second (or third) its pretty rough

Inboard CV joints. Stuck the car up in the air, start it, put it in gear, and examine the inboard joints. Most likely, one will be wobbling.

I will look at the inner joints today. I feel most of it in the steering wheel. I dont notice it at 40 mph but I do at 50 - 55 mph. I also did not notice it when going downhill.

I just drove it 140 miles and I noticed vibration in the floor also. I think the suggestion above is right. I think it is an inner CV. I don't think it is an outer CV because I don't have clicking noises while turning at low speeds.

That would be the first thing I would check. I had the same problem and ran through the same diagnosis as you with the same result. A set of new axles fixed everything up (and by new, I don't mean POS autozone axles).

lol - I have gotten junk from the local auto parts stores. What brand do you recommend? I have changed axles on a 95 prelude before. I assume these will have the same level of ease to replace?

autopartswarehouse.com has EMPI, First Equipment Quality, and CVU.

I will take look at them within the next few hours.

Thanks for all of your help!
Kevin
