Default help!!!motor mount broke from block

I'm in despearte need of advice...I brought my car out to acura and they found that my motor mount on the bottom was misalinged and had bolts loose. The bad part is the mount from the top that connects to the block has broken off and the engine has a slight lean. They say I need to get a new motor. I dunno if the engine mount is broken off...shouldn't the engine constantly shake when I turn on the car?......The problem that I do have is that when I drive the engine jerks as I drive. Man the engine is a 98ls and its has only 40k miles on it. I asked if they can weld it and they say it is not possible. Plus they want to charge me 1800 for a motor with 64k miles and then charge 1800 for labor. I'm like with that price I should just swap a gsr and pay a little extra more. Anyone with advice please do say!!! Thanks....

I'm sure you can get something rigged up to help stabilize that motor before it breaks up and causes problems.

Find a shop that does more custom manufacturing stuff and get it done. Worse case you spend $200 and in 3 months you break more stuff and need a new motor anyway.
Best case, it works and you're happy.

Either way is better than $3,600 right now.

Do you know which mount it is? Lower torque mount? Tranny mount? Upper drivers mount? Rear mount?

from what he's saying it's the upper driver's mount, mounted to the block, the mount under our cruise control unit.
