Painted Calipers
I would like to paint my brake calipers red to match my car. I know there are kits available from various places, or I could take it to a professional. Does anyone have any experience at this, or any recommendations? Pros, cons, or things to watch out for?
Look a DIY! http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=182
Autozone sells a cliper painting kit, but really all it is is cleaner, brushes, tape, and hi-temp paint all for a retail price of $15 buckeroos!

I have used Rustoleum on my Civic (about three sets so far), my wifes CR-V and four BMW's. I just wire brush all of the rust (unless rebuilt ones), wipe with paint thinner, prime and either brush or spray it on. It lasts, is cheap and cleans up pretty good. These are daily driver Buffalo cars though, so definetly not quality but not bad. It keeps them looking good for years.
You could go through the trouble of getting your paint code put into spray cans and disassembling your calipers to do a really decent job.

It's your car, but I wouldn't attract attention to just normal OEM-spec brakes. :hsugh:
As long as you are very careful with your surface preparation and your masking, there's no reason why you couldn't do this yourself. Use a high-temperature engine enamel and follow the manufacturer's directions religiously.

ummmm:
clean old calipers, using a brush and steel wool if neccessary, clean off all loose debris and dirt
use a engine enamel, or you can buy caliper paint at stores
make sure to take off the area around the caliper if your not taking off the car and go ahead and spray. its really not that hard
