that is pretty high. i paid $9,000 for my 96 GSR in perfect condition last year with 82k on it. talk the guy down. and one of the main things is that you can shift at 8 in a GSR and around 6.5 in a GS. basically the GSR has a bigger and better engine. there are also a few dif things on it like painted side moldings and other stuff. if you can afford the GSR, go for it. you will love it.

:eh: get it right..

the b18b1 (RS, LS, GS/SE) is "bigger" than the b18c1 (GS-R).

b18b1 (RS, LS, GS/SE):
1834 cc
142 hp (obd1)
140 hp (obd2)
redline: 6800

b18c1 (GS-R):
1797 cc
170hp
redline: 8000

the b18b1 has slightly more torque on the low end. the b18c1 has a better top end (VTEC) and can stay up there for longer (higher redline). that, along with shorter gearing, is what allows the GS-R to outperform the RS, LS, GS/SE.

so, to answer the original question, the GS (or SE) is the same exact thing as the GS-R, except for the engine, tranny, and some minor suspension differences.

Well technically the GSR has a slightly smaller engine than the GS / LS / RS, but it does rev higher and it's got VTEC.

170HP compared to 140.
