Default Help with PowerSlot Rotors!!!

Okay.

So, I finally got new brakes (powerslotted rotors on all corners) and some new pads (Hawk HP+) pads.

Before I got brakes my rotors were massivly warped, the car didnt stop for crap.

I take it in, get the work done, im leaving teh shop...
The pedal goes all the way to the floor before it starts braking (or damn close) and it doesnt stop for ****!

I know brakes have to be broken in, but whenever I got brakes done before I was always like "oh wow, this rules" casue they were all touchy and stuff.

What do you guys think?

whenever you do a brake job the brake pedal will always go to the floor because the caliper has to push the piston so the pad is matched up with the rotor. See a brake pad never really leaves contact with the rotor it just rests on it . Just always remember to pupm the brakes after changing pads.
p.s the shop should have done this for you!!! If you were back into something while backing out of a parking space they would have been in deep s**t!

I just had them drive to my house and take my car back to the shop. They said it felt like a little bit of air in the lines, but it seriously...

The pedal goes to the floor each time you pump it, as if your brakes are mad squishy and then it doesnt stop for crap even when all the way on the brakes.

It gets worse as you drive, too.

Well, they brought the car back.
It's a little better, but these things still suck. Tell me guys, how far does your pedal go down before it starts to engage?
This thing is going down *WAY* farther (1-2 inches?) than it did even with warped ass used rotors.

It sucks.

I'm sure you're already aware of this but...

Hawk HP+ pads are pretty aggressive for street driving (hell even the HPS are a tad bit too much) so the brakes won't bite for sh#t if they're cold. But since you mentioned it got worse as you went along, I would point the finger at the shop that did the brake job.

I went from super warped OEM rotors to Axxis pads and resurfaced rotors (got it cheap) and initially when I'm driving it feels like I have to step on the brake an inch more to have the brakes engage. It feels like the pad is making contact, but nothing is happening. After the pads warm up it bites better than stock.

Keep us updated though, I'm planning to switch to new rotors real soon...

On the pads, yeah.

Anyway... even when they're warm I am having to push the pedal down at least 1.8 inches, possibly 2, before it even STARTS to slow down.

I know I gotta break teh things in, but this is ridiculous.

Im about to go to them, say **** you, charge back on my bank card, and grab my oem **** and leave.

One more thing to note. If I turn off the car and pump the brakes, they naturally get hard (like they're supposed to) but the hardest they get, the pedal still moves like 3/4ths of an inch. It never gets solid like it used to.

is there enough fluid? when i pump my brakes when the car is off, it would budge about .25-.5"

when you stomp on the brakes, do you think itll have better stopping power if you were able to keep pushing past the floor?
