Default LS/VTEC or TURBO $

My son just had his 95 Integra LS rebuilt for an eventual turbo set-up.
Would it be less expensive to go the LS/VTEC route vs the turbo, and if
so, what type of hp could we expect with the LS/VTEC system. The engine
was rebuilt with low compression pistons and rings. I hear there are pre-made systems that make the LS/VTEC conversion less complicated that it
used to be.

Thanks,

For the same amount of money invested in either setup, the turbo setup on the LS will be faster.

In California, any VTEC head swap is not smog-legal. Period.

That said, if you don't mind the additional hassle and expense of "smog checks", they can make a decent amount of power for the money.

What exactly did they do to the motor?
Ex: brands and measurements?
How much did it cost?

Thanks,
Seriously dude, how old are your kids? These kinds of things you are looking into do not seem to be within the best interest of providing help w/the mode of transporation. This is IMO ofcourse...I see a lot of your post and it seems like you are all over the map w/what you want for your kids.

Default car upgrades

Thanks for all your thoughts. The turbo set - up is something that will occur down the road, but in the meantime I'm having a great time working
and learning about import cars, repairs etc. with my children. This forum has
been a good source of information for someone who is still learning. Again,
thanks for all the useful responses to my questions.
