well swap went very smoothly!! i started friday afternoon and finished at about noon sunday. i could have had it done much faster but i did the grunt of the work myself. i had some hands for about 3hrs on friday and 2hrs on saturday. i bought a jap motor so the oil pump had to be swapped for the crank sensor and to do that i had to drop the oil pan on both motors. she runs great besides a part throttle stumble that i had on the old motor. so i am going through to check sensors, cap/rotor, tps and such today and swith anything out that is needed. thanks a bunch for the advice jdmeg6hatchy, much appreciated!!!!!!!

So what did you have to do with the oil pump and crank sensor on the JDM motor?

i had to take out the oil pump on the JDM motor because it didnt have the boss for the crank sensor since it is a OBDI motor in Japan. then i had to swap the accessories and intake manifold along with the motor mount bracket shown above. it started right up and runs good. it feels much stronger but i guess it would be a bad comparsion considering the stock ls motor wasant makign the power it should have.

Gotcha, now I wouldn't have to swap the oil pump since my car is OBD1 right?

correction...boring to 84mm will not affect the r/s ratio. you're just making the cylinders bigger. going to a smaller crank or shorter rods will affect the r/s ratio.

ok well to get more technical it doesnt actually change the rod ratio just provides an oversquare engine lay out vs the stock undersquare layout. this allows you to turn high rpms with out the severe vibration an undersquare lay out gives. i do understand how it works and the the rod ratio is the connecting rod length divided by the stroke. with any of the stroker kits that are out there it will actually give a worse rod ratio that make turning higher than 8k rpms dangerous.
