My R used to wind to about 9100 RPM before it would start to cut out though. With modified ECU, my GSR was 8600 RPM

Having owned both, they are definitely not the same car. The R is a MUCH stiffer chassis and the engine is completely different.

I have 2 videos of integras. One of an Integra GS-R and one of an Integra Type R. Both are just filming the speedometer and tachometer.
The Type R has redline at 8,400 RPM but can rev up to 9,000 RPM... I've heard some one even revved up one to 9,500 and had no problems.
The GS-R Redline is at 8,100 RPM like Fastback said.

Of what I know is that the GSR and the Type R engines are from the same series but they are different.

i was looking at my Mom's GSR and it has the factory larger rear sway (than my friends 96 LS-SE), rear strut tower brace, front strut tower brace, and rear tie bar. its a 94 gs-r.

Rear sway on the GSR is larger than the other models, but is still much smaller than the ITR sway (the ITR bar is not a direct bolt on to other models). Neither the R or the GSR come with the rear STB from the factory in the US. The front strut tower bar is black welded steel on the GSR, while it is a 3 piece unit with a polished aluminum bar on the ITR. Rear lower tie bar does not come on any model except for the ITR - the subframe has an extra spot on either side for it to bolt on. If the lower tie bar is attached to the LCAs, it is not a factory item (unless it is the Comptech one that you have to drill holes in the subframe for).

Still doesn't give you everything that is in the R motor. There are a lot of differences. Port & polish, eliptical titanium springs, different valves, different pistons, etc...

they are alot alike but still very different.

the Type R has:

-better suspension
-more HP
-type R lip
- Type R wheels
-different stock colors
-higher spoiler
-more torque

theres even more differences but thats whats on the top of my head. a GS-R is just a not as good Type R in a way.

still both are great cars
