well the thing is... im not sure what state your in, but here in LOVELY california we have this nazi organization called the "California Air Ratings Board".... and the noname intakes rarely have exemption numbers for those intakes, and you would fail a visual instantly. But as far as power and quality.... there really is no difference

edit: i know the Air Ratings Board is in every state... but only in CA is it a nazi-organization

Well, I live in Louisiana and they really don't give a fuck about the air thing here. So I think I'll deffinetly go with the cheaper version. What about headers and exhaust? Are there any cheap options on those?

First of all, your inline-four only has one header, not multiple headers. Sorry, but it annoys me.

Second, Megan Racing makes a popular header for not much money. It's been a while since I've researched this stuff, but they used to be around $160-$180.

I have a no-name intake on my 95 LS with a K&N filter. I love the sound, but there's hardly a mileage/power increase, if any at all. I also wished I would have gone with a regular paper filter, as they seem to filter better for less money. If you don't believe me, do some research over at the bobistheoilguy forums. There's more knowledge about fluids and filters than you can imagine.

Good luck.

Or do I just have all of this completely wrong?
I bought one of the cheap SRI off ebay and havnt installed it yet cause the teg is still under about 2ft of snow whats the difference between the filter it came with and a K&N filter?

How much of a difference is there between a Cold air intake and a SRI? I have found my ebay cold air to be restrictive, so i changed it to SRI and it idled much better... So really, how good is a Cold air?

Shoobie, I gotcha man, I'm not new to cars, I just say headers cuz I'm used to driving an old Camaro with a V8 in it. But anyway, does anyone know of a cheap exhaust system that has a mellow sound. I want performance, but to be honest I can'tstand the loud ass coffee can exhausts alot of my friends have. Is there anything that I can get that is as quiet or close to stock?

Search man. We have force fed you enough. All your answers could have been answered by a quick search.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but these questions have been beat to death, so there is plenty of information already floating out there.
