Clerify HP gaines??
already a thread started like this, check it out it's called "HP gain from CAI and Exhaust"
and do a search there are a bunch of threads discussing this topic
but to answer your question 5-7hp max, if you are lucky

AEM CAI: 13.9whp on a stock '98 GS-R. I've seen comparable numbers other places...

First, don't think in terms of "what does this part give me in hp", because the engine works together as a package. Each part is a peice of the package, and each peice will work differently depending on the rest.
So a catback exhaust by itself is not going to do alot, but when paired with intake/header/cat, its going to provide good gains as a system.
A high quality proper i/h/c/e setup can get you anywhere from 13 - 20+ whp depending on the engine package and what you go with. (all DC sports vs Hytech/SMSP, obviously the latter will produce better gains)

There's an argument about the benefits of I/H/C/E in another thread, but I'll repeat some of my posts here.
Getting a quality I/H/C/E system will net you some decent gains. I decided to go with Comptech I/H/E since these components were designed to work together as a system, but mixing and matching quality parts should work equally well.
And to the lucky wrx owner
who keeps saying 5 whp max gain on a N/A car, you should know that high compression, small displacement 4-cylinder engines benefit the most from cold-air induction. (prob explains why integras run considerably faster times on cold days) That should be my new excuse when I lose a race.
