I have a haynes and I dont even see engine stiffners in there or the flywheel sheild just the oil pan bolts and it says 92 lbs-in So should I buy the helms book as well???

 

I got my specs straight from the Integra service manual, so since there is a descrepency, the Helms manual would be a good investment if you want accurate torque specs and procedures.

 

i left my gsr at the shop today. It looks like the oil is leaking from the gasket and is sealed properly. The mechanic will redo everything and fix it no charge. He will also weld my return line better. It looks like its leaking a little there. Hopefully when i pick my gzzr tomorrow . it will be clean with no leaks.

 

Well finally got to doing it, it worked out well, was pretty easy, header was a *$%#%@^ but i just took my time. Thanks a lot people!

Nah i didnt use the hondabond, my friend at Acura (Mechanic) said not to. But he copied the manual for me on how to do the bolt pattern, but I threw it out, my bad! I did it awile ago, just never got to posting here. But there was an order in which to put them in and torque as well. I should stop smoking so id remember things more, sorry!

 

lol, ye i got the tq but i think the bolt pattern is like start in the middle and the cris cross them across the pan itself

 

i don't believe the oil pan gasket requires hondabond.

what is EXTREMELY important though is that it is torqued down evenly (crisscross pattern) and correctly. the bolts and nuts don't require much torque at all, so be careful not to overtighten.

 

Using hondabond is completely optional. I agree that it needs to be torqued correctly over worrying about hondabond.
