So when the motor won't crank, your temporary solution has been to bypass the clutch switch, correct?

If that's the case, then switch has probably conked out.
The switch is mechanical, so it's bound to die at some point.

If it doesnt crank I have to run a wire to the stater wire and touch to battery with key on it will fire. But when I was trouble shooting problem i bypassed clutch switch(thought it was the prob) still did not start ha to resort back to wire

logan - read the thread before you post.

to the original poster - you said it will start with the clutch 98% of the time...are you sure you bypassed the clutch switch correctly? i can't think of anything else at this point.

he said when he "hotwires" it the car starts right up, meaning the starter works. unless.....i've heard when starters go bad that it takes a big ole shock to get them going. maybe it's weak, but not dead...? it might be worth pulling the starter and taking it to autozone to have it tested just so you can eliminate the possibility completely. when the starter on my accord went out, that's exactly what it did. if i kept clicking the key back and forth, eventually it would crank and start.

have someone bang on the starter while you crank it just to be sure its not an intermittent starter (i dont think its the starter) could the relay be sticking? is your floor mat getting shoved up far enough that the clutch switch cant release? i got burned on a nissan before and it was just the floor mat. it was the same deal, intermittent start everything tested good and it was the fucking floor mat
