How different are the other brands besides AEM in terms of bypassing the water and keeping the engine safe?

The resonator (at least for me) was a big white box beneath the splash gaurd in front of the passenger wheel well. You'll definitely see it once you take off the 8 or so screw/pop things that hold the guard in.
You guys are way to paranoid. Unless the filter is submerged in water, it will not damage the motor. The water will be burned off by the hot manifold before it comes anywhere near the motor. What do you expect when it rains? Are you just not going to drive the car because you have a cold air intake on that gives you 1-2 hp tops?

They get sucked into the engine easier because they are poorly made and the foam isn't secured properly. Even AEM's bypass valve is a joke.

Really so they tell you to cut into your pipe just for the hell of it? What would water in the engine sound like? Because only in the rain I have heard a kind of moaning sound when on the road

I imagine it would make a knocking noise until the rod shot out the side of the block and then at that point, it wouldn't make any noise.

After seeing pics of hydrolocked motors, there is no way in hell I would run or recommend anything that comes that close to standing water that could submerge an air filter.

Not really. The Comptech Icebox is far superior to any SRI.

Ah, well I dnt kno if I should go wasting money on another intake when I am getting a turbo setup. That would be a waste of money.
